Portal 2 Animatronic
An exercise in both aesthetic modeling and robotics controls, I led the mechanical subteam in creating self-contained autonomously roaming robotic system in a four week sprint. The body of the robot was modeled in Blender, and the frame in SolidWorks. A shell was thermoformed from a CNC machined buck, and secured via embedded magnets to a laser-cut hardboard frame. In its final iteration, the dispenser block was capable of launching NERF projectiles over 25 m/s.
